MSACL Presenter Biography

James Hawley
University Hospital Coventry

Since September 2009 I have been employed by University Hospital Coventry in England as a Trainee Clinical Biochemist. This is a diverse position that involves providing clinicians with interpretation of their requests, advising on further tests to confirm or exclude a diagnosis and also conducting research and development in order to advance the expertise within the biochemistry department. It is through this research and development role that I have gained experience with mass spectrometry. During the first two years of my training I was required to undertake a Masters degree in Clinical Biochemistry, one component of which was to complete a research project. I am here today to share with you the results of this research and I welcome your questions, comments and any criticisms you may have.
