Why we use your data (legal bases)

• To run events and manage registrations (contract/legitimate interests).
• To send MSACL announcements and event updates when you consent (you can withdraw anytime).
• Security, fraud prevention, and site operations (legitimate interests).
• Compliance with legal obligations.

Sharing

• Processors/Vendors: service providers (e.g., event/registration, email delivery, hosting, analytics) acting on our instructions.
• Sponsors: only if you opt in for a named sponsor, we share your name, email, job title, organisation, and country with that sponsor so they can email you about products/services/events. See Sponsor Privacy Notices.
• We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

If we or our vendors/sponsors transfer data outside the EEA/UK, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) and supplementary measures where required.

Retention

• Registration records: typically up to 24 months after the event (longer if needed for accounting/legal purposes).
• MSACL mailing list: until you unsubscribe or we no longer need to contact you.

Your rights

Subject to conditions/exemptions, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw consent at any time (e.g., via the unsubscribe link). To exercise rights, email amber.herold@msacl.org. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Marketing choices

• MSACL emails: use the unsubscribe link in any email or manage at msacl.org/email_alerts.
• Sponsor emails (if opted in): unsubscribe using the sponsor’s email link or contact them directly.

We sometimes use essential cookies and limited analytics to operate and improve the site. Where required, we will ask for consent via a cookie banner. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
