Presenting an Abstract : What to Expect

Invited Plenary and Keynote Presentations

Presentation lengths range from 30-40 minutes with Q&A.

Submitted Abstracts : "Podium"

After submitting through the online portal and being accepted to present, Podium presenters will be administratively placed in a session.

Presentations will occur in session of 2 to 4 abstracts with presentation being evenly distributed across the duration of the session, unless otherwise specified by the session chair. Expected durations are from 8-20 minutes depending on the number of presenters in your session and the preferences of the session chair.

Submitted Abstracts : "Poster"

After submitting through the online portal and being accepted to present, Poster presenters will be administratively placed in a session. Expect anywhere from 5-10 other poster presenters in each session.

Presenters will open with a 2-3 minute using 1 slide, and then each presenter will move to a breakout room to attend visitors interested in discussing their science.

Slide sharing in the breakout rooms is expected, but not required. It is recommended that the presenter partition their "poster" in 1 to 5 slides rather than share an actual poster.

Expected duration: 30 - 60 min depending on the number of posters (generally 5 posters per 30 min).

There will be a student POSTER CONTEST with up to three 100 EUR awards

You are automatically entered by submitting an abstract. Judging of student posters will take place during each scheduled poster session with announcement of the winner(s) on Friday September 17, following the closing plenary with Stephen Pennington.
