MSACL 2025Montréal Sept 21-26 |
|
Financial Disclosure information for all individuals in a position to control the content of the CME Activity will be presented on the MSACL website or online conference program to attendees of the CME accredited activity.
In Financial Disclosures, ineligible companies will be identified by name only, and will not include ineligible companies’ corporate or product logos, trade names, or product group messages.
It is required that all individuals in a position to control the content of an accredited Continuing Medical Education Activity disclose any financial relationship(s) of their person, or any family member, with an ineligible company if both (1) the relationship occurred within the past 24 months and (2) the company is partly or wholly involved in providing tool(s) and/or service(s) for [CLINICAL ANALYSIS AND/OR TREATMENT]. Individuals must disclose regardless of their view of the relevance of the relationship to the education. Even if a product is not specifically referenced or discussed during the activity, individuals must disclose their financial relationship(s) with the company. There is no minimum threshold. Research funding from ineligible companies should be disclosed by the principal or named investigator even if that individual's institution receives the research grant and manages the funds.
Either Do Not Discuss Products/Services or Use Generic Terms
Individuals with financial relationships must confirm that if they do discuss products or services related to their financial relationship, they will use GENERIC TERMS.
Exceptions to Use of Generic Terms
If they will not use GENERIC TERMS, there are requirements that must be accommodated for them to proceed with the presentation: (i) the product is the sole product available on the market without a comparable generic term, (ii) the education requires the designation of a specific product with the caveat that the content as a whole be balanced by statement of comparators and how/why the education will focus on a single trade named product, or (iii) the presenter will be inclusive of other products on the market and using trade names is to clarify the education; for example, if the education is describing 5 types of mass spec instruments, the presenter may need to differentiate by the trade name of each mass spec.
Mitigation of Financial Relationships
Financial relationships have been mitigated if an individual is listed as participating in an MSACL activity under CME accreditation.
