SUMMARY:
The Supervising Medical Technologist will be responsible for performing LC-MS/MS and other related techniques in a CAP-accredited clinical metabolic laboratory. This position is responsible for the performance, quality, and accuracy of the results reported; maintenance of instrumentation including scheduled, preventive, and troubleshooting, as needed; preparation of standards, calibrators, and reagents; and adherence to the laboratory's quality management program; and overseeing day-to-day operations.

REQUIREMENTS: Licensed or temporarily licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in Clinical Chemistry and 4 years of appropriate experience and for which the laboratory is licensed under Chapter 483, Florida Statutes.

PAY RANGE: $71,000 - $75,000
Supervision responsibilities: 0.5FTE

This position will perform laboratory testing of drugs and drug metabolites in human biological samples for diagnostic, as well as forensic purposes, utilizing a variety of methodologies including, but not limited to, immunoassay, filtration and solid-phase extraction, and LC-MS/MS.

*This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory including, but not limited to, inventory control, purchase of reagents and supplies, and instrument maintenance. The position will represent the laboratory director as needed or as assigned at laboratory meetings.

*This position will oversee compliance with all laboratory policies and procedures as required by the
University of Florida, Department of Pathology, UF Health Pathology Labs and the College of American Pathologists. This position will be responsible for the maintenance of all routine documentation associated with the performance of laboratory testing including reporting of patient results and results of quality assurance tests and measures.

*This position will assist with the development of new assays as instructed by the laboratory director and recommend updates and changes to laboratory procedure manuals. This position will assist with the maintenance of the SOP including revisions and the development of new policies and procedures.
