The Monterey Conference Center (MCC) is within 2 blocks of the ocean.

Immediately proximate to the MCC, going away from the ocean, is Alvarado St, which hosts a plethora of restaurants and coffee shops.

Trader Joe’s is within 0.4 miles.

Towards the ocean there are two wharfs, one is the touristy Old Fisherman’s Wharf with a number of restaurants, and the second is the commercial wharf, which has the Sandbar Grill, with a smaller, more local, feel.

There are several British Pubs, one next to the commercial wharf, London Bridge Pub, and one on Calle Principal, The Crown and Anchor. For late night pub going, Britannia Arms is open to 1:15am with karaoke nights, a quiz night, and an internet jukebox.

The Dustbowl Brewing Company and the Alvarado Brewing company are standout breweries.

There are many other restaurants and cafes within walking distance that are too numerous to name.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is within 1.5 miles (walkable). Cannery Row includes A Taste of Monterey Wine Market and Bistro.

10. Toribashi : Japanese Ramen, cold noodle salads, rice bowls. Good vegetarian options.
11. Perfectly Pressed : Quality juices, smoothies, and acai bowls.
12. Alta Bakery and Cafe : Super choice for breakfast and lunch.
